Laser engraving Marking parts

Laser marking of plastic parts both in prototyping and in production is a service that 1zu1 offers in-house. Master models and vacuum castings often need to be labeled or laser engraved. No matter what your needs are – with 1zu1 you are on the right track.

Process

1zu1 uses a process which involves the use of a CO₂laser. In this process, the plastic component is initially coated with a layer of paint. Targeted lasering of the lettering with the CO2 laser removes the paint again at this point.The underlying surface emerges in its original color.

Files

As a basis for laser inscription we require a data set in the form of a vector file (AI, EPS or PDF format) and a PDF with position and size information. In the same process, it is also possible to illuminate the laser-marked area from the reverse side.
