Silicone
Vacuum-cast silicones for prototypes or series parts look good and are hardwearing. What's more, they can be produced in almost any color. Hardnesses range from Shore A 10 (comparable to a gummy bear) to Shore A 70 (comparable to an auto tire). Wall thicknesses of just 0.5mm allow intricate detailing. The resulting parts can withstand pressure and are airtight and waterproof. 1zu1 special silicones for extra dimensional stability can even withstand temperatures of up to 150 or 250 degrees Celsius.
FDA-friendly
Our food-safe silicone parts are a real 1zu1 specialty! The biocompatible material meets the strict approval regulations of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA certification), poses no health risk and has no effect on the smell or taste of food contents.
Rubber
PU rubber is particularly suited to functional prototypes. It can be used to make almost anything, from seals to bellows, as well as soft elements on hard parts. Even different Shore hardnesses within the same construction process are no problem for us. For this purpose, there are two material series in 35-100 Shore A hardnesses: an amber-colored rubber which is usually dyed black and can withstand elongations at break of up to 400%, and a transparent PU rubber which can be dyed as desired but whose elongation properties are not as good as those of the amber variety.
