EOS FORMIGA – economical laser sintering of polyamide, polypropylene and rubber parts with amazing precision. This allows the customers of 1zu1 to benefit from even more accurate 3D printing processes for rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing.

The resulting components are not only suitable for use as prototypes: a layer thickness of 100 µm and a laser focus of 0.45 mm ensure outstanding part accuracy. This makes the term “additive manufacturing” live up to its meaning: Why? Now, economical production of small batches and individualized products with complex geometries is possible in the shortest possible time. And if you want it even more precise, 1zu1 also has an FDR system with a layer thickness of 40 µm and a laser focus of 0.22 mm.

Strength through detail

The particular strength of FORMIGA systems lies above all in the details: a fine laser spot makes it possible to produce structural layers of only 40 - 100 µm and wall thicknesses of only 0.22 - 0.45 mm “thickness”. With dimensions this small, the layers virtually disappear. What's more, the extreme contour fidelity of the Formiga systems creates surfaces that appear almost smooth to the naked eye.
